TECHSPERT

PAGE 01

1/1 – We’re looking through at a window, seeing the rough outline or silhouette of a man. The window is the last in the floor, so we can also see the cityscape behind the building. Just show that it’s 1) the future, and 2)it’s night time.

CAP:
ANOTHER BAD DAY.

CAP:
THE FUTURE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER, WASN’T IT? ZERO-POINT ENERGY, CROP GENOMICS, SOCIETY 2.0, MARRIAGE, STARTING MY OWN AGENCY—THE SHOULD’VE MADE MY LIFE EASIER.

1/2 – Est. shot of the office. High angle. There’s some future tech in there (desktop PC, ergonomic lights), but it looks very close to modern office. Furniture is worn down, it’s dirty. There should be a couch. Also, there should be a door leading to a side room.

This is our first look at [HERO], our late 30-something protagonist. He’s wearing a modern outfit (polo, slacks, tie), but with some sleek accentuations (maybe tubing or spandex a la Ultimate Giant Man). His clothing is disheveled. His hair is unkempt.

CAP:
TURNS OUT ZERO-POINT ENERGY IS EXPENSIVE, MARKER FOODS ARE CANCEROUS, AND SOCIETY IS SHIT NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.

CAP:
[WIFE]’S LEAVING ME IN TWO WEEKS, AND I CAN’T EVEN AFFORD CUSTODY OF MY KID. I’M THIS CLOSE TO EARNING MY FIRST BIG PAYDAY -- EXPOSING SOME DISCREPANCIES IN A MEGABANK’S INVESTMENTS -- BUT WITH MY LUCK…

CAP:
ANOTHER BAD DAY. TIME TO GO HOME.

1/3 – [HERO]’s standing up, shuffling papers together. You can see [BANK NAME] clearly on top of the file. Lana’s voice comes in from off-panel, but [HERO] keeps his focus on his files.

LANA(OP):
MR. [NAME]?

[HERO]:
WE’RE CLOSED, TOOTS. WHY DON’’T YOU TRY AGAIN--

1/4 – Biggest panel on the page. Low angle, slightly tilted if you want. Lana opens the door. She’s wearing something very sexy, showing cleavage, shoulders, and maybe legs and some waist. Her body language is firm, but her face looks fragile and vulnerable. She has a hat of some kind, also a thick briefcase. All her items are kinda futuristic.

[HERO]:
-- TOMORROW?

CAP:
SHE’S INSTANTLY EVERY INDECENT THOUGHT I’VE EVER HAD.

[HERO]:
AH, HAVE A SEAT MISS…?

LANA:

RIO. LANA RIO.
